IDENTIFY. Research Facilitates Conception

Urban Trend designers review daily RSS feeds from over 100 gadget and trend blogs to ensure that they are up-to-date on current trends, fashions and ideas. Our designers travel globally to understand trends at the retail level. Our designers meet weekly with our product development team to review the concepts and impressions gleaned from this research and assist to focus where our designers should put their emphasis that then leads us into the design stage of development.

DESIGN. Practical and Cost-Effective Solutions

Once market potential or a trend is identified, our Urban Trend designers work with our product development team to distill them into an actionable reality. During this phase of product development the initial concepts may change dramatically from their original. We consider cost, materials, manufacturing processes, capabilities of our factories, availability of components, and our client's needs. We brainstorm; create 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional imaging; refine the design; prototype; further refine the design, brainstorm; create more drawings; and we repeat this process over and over again. We explore as many alternatives as possible -- being mindful of market timing and cost-benefit analysis of the end-product. All intellectual property rights are secured at the conclusion of the design phase.

PRODUCE. Specification and Standardization

Once the designs are completed and the manufacturer chosen for production, our product development team carefully reviews all details with the manufacturer and oversees the project during all aspects of production.. Our product development team spends time at the factory with the engineers overseeing all critical steps and carefully documenting each step. During this phase, all necessary tests and certificates are applied for and performed. Specifications of the product are clearly defined, and specifications of packaging, shipping and transportation are determined.

Urban Trend is an OEM design and manufacturing company located in Hong Kong with offices in Shenzhen and Ningbo China and California. The majority of Urban Trend's business is the design and manufacturing of its own unique products or those of its customers under contract.

Urban Trend (through its parent company, PCI) was formed in 1995 by Robert G. Kushner, Esq., a former United States litigator. Urban Trend has a full service staff that can conceptualize, develop, design, source and ship consumer retail products. Our staff includes product and graphic designers, a dedicated product development team, merchandising and marketing support and a logistics department. We employ and manage our own quality control inspectors who monitor and check every shipment.

Urban Trend's designer product range includes gifts and gadgets (home and kitchen). Urban Trend owns its own patents and trademarks in half a dozen countries. Urban Trend has manufactured items for well-known companies such as Pepsi, Ford and Pfizer. Urban Trend has done contract manufacturing for Brookstone. Urban Trend's products have also been distributed in over 40 different countries.

Urban Trend works closely with its customers to design the best strategy for their business. We assist our customers with all aspects of production from identifying market potential to its design and packaging, through to inspection and shipment.

Urban Trend is interested in working with new and creative companies to market and promote its products. Urban Trend is also interested licensing products from inventors who have products that they want to bring to market.
